Applications for metaMETAL usually have one or more of the following attributes:
- the part is time-consuming to machine
- you wish to avoid a metal casting:
- wrought-material mechanical properties are desired
- you want to avoid cleanup of sprues and cutoffs
- surface finish or pitting is a concern
- rounding on detailed features is unacceptable
- every part is different (customization)
- it has fine features that are difficult to machine or cast
- machining solid metal would be time consuming
- current machining operations have a low yield
- machining causes excessive tool wear
- work hardening or stresses complicate machining
- you need just a few prototypes
- functional testing is required
- the parts are very small
- you wish to avoid tooling to evaluate a few parts
